L.L. Bean surprises.

June 14, 2010

I’ve always believed L.L. Bean to be a store that appeals exclusivelyto middle-class suburban mothers, however after a customer came into work the other day toting this bag, I’m forced to reconsider.

I’ve been looking for a good sized travel/carry-on bag for quite some time, and all the great quality leather ones that I’ve come across are upwards of $400, but the Town and Field Tote with it’s $129 price and large size seems a perfectly function yet chic option.  I’ll definitely be picking this up before my next big trip.

drunk on summer.

June 10, 2010

i’ve been feeling very inspired, whimsical, and happy as of late.  so even keel it’s uncanny.  some things i’ve been mulling over or day dreaming about:

1.

(remember when lindsay lohan was f*ckin’ awesome & fresh-faced?)

2.

(sometimes i feel like the weight of all my jewelry rivals my body weight.)

3.

4.

5.

(alexi!  give me your hair!  now!)

6.

(it’s all i listen to these days.)

7.

(sigh.)

so true.

currently obsessing

May 21, 2010

this is what i’m drooling over right now:

1. Jeffrey Campbell Clog Wedges

i’m still not entirely sure about how i feel about the return of the clog, however i’d rock these babies  in a second.  then again, i’m down with pretty much anything that adds 4+ inches of height to my miniature stature.

2. Emily’s Satchel for Coach

i cannot even explain how much i wish i had 500$ to spend on this limited edition bag, designed for Coach by one of my favorite bloggers Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere.  it’s the perfect spring satchel and i’ve been totally loving baby pink right now.

3. Rachel Bilson’s Tuxedo Jumper

Bilson wore this to the Art of Elysium Paradis and Dinner Party in Cannes.  it is at once a touch of menswear & formality, but the bare feet and simple updo add a sense of playfulness.  well done!

4. O.P.I’s “Lunch at the Dehli”

i just got my nails done this color and it’s the perfect deep coral for summer.  O.P.I never fails me.

5. Classy by Derek Blasberg

Please girls, read this book.  and for godssake please stop being trashy, slutty, drunken idiots, etc.  let derek throw some knowledge on you.  (bonus?  it’s laugh-out-loud funny.)

My life be like..ooh, ahh, ooh, ahh

May 2, 2010

My life as of late:

A few weekends ago I went to NYC with my friend Steck to visit our dear friend Tracy (check out her hi-larious blog No Use Crying Over Spilled Vodka).

We drank in excess, ate sushi practically everyday, had Mexican food for breakfast (always a treat), and danced for hours in 4 inch heels.  I can’t even explain how unbelievably inspired I was after being in the city (PEOPLE ACTUALLY KNOW HOW TO DRESS THEMSELVES!)  Maybe there’s hope after all.

In addition to having an absolutely wonderful time and remembering how blissful it is to live with girls and have double the wardrobe, I also got to meet up with two of my amazing friends from my study abroad program, Monica & Sam.  Monica met us for bagels one afternoon and on the last day of my visit I traveled to the Bronx to visit my Sam at Fordham.

{Pls ignore how crusty & hungover I look.}

Of course when I came back feeling all inspired and chic, I went on a huuuge shopping binge which included scoring these amazing BCBG nude suede heels:

And most recently was my 23rd birthday which included a dinner party at the American Alehouse and drinks at my apartment afterward which was a smashing success.

{more photos to come once I can steal them from my friend’s camera?}

& the in-between:  loving up my girlfriends, mani-pedi’s, day-drinking, reading (currently reading The Husbands and Wives Club by Laurie Abraham & The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood), baking gluten-free cupcakes for the first time, and generally just loving life.

xoxo

Oh & P.S.– Did I mention that I quit smoking on my birthday?  One week in and feeling good. 🙂

ok ok, i SWEAR i’ll update this blog as soon as life gets a little less awesome or as soon as i can sit still in my apartment for more than 10 minutes.
